Who is calico?
Calico (Jacob Zimmer) has been DJing dance floors at clubs, concert venues, and parties around Seattle & the PNW since 2013. Never limiting himself to a single style or genre, you might catch him laying down the boogie at a patio party on a sunny Seattle summer day then do a double-take when you see him a few hours later on stage in a packed club on Capitol Hill getting the crowd amped up on niche club tracks, raucous rap tunes, and cheeky guilty pleasures.
Calico independently produces, hosts, and curates Bad Idea and Don't Think!, two parties that have become mainstays of Seattle nightlife. He also regularly releases dance edits and remixes on his SoundCloud and Bandcamp, fusing elements of Baltimore Club, House, Breaks, and Jersey Club into playful tracks with DJs and dance floors in mind.

Bad Idea continues to expand outside of Seattle, with parties in Portland, OR and Tacoma, WA, and DJ bookings from NYC and São Paulo, Brazil.

Don’t Think!
Every Thursday is Don't Think!, Gold Bar's longest-running weekly DJ residency and dance party featuring Calico as resident DJ & party host playing Pop, Hyphy, House, R&B, Remixes & all manner of guilty pleasures and ass shakers.
New guest DJs curated by Calico join him every week in a room full of industry regulars who make the party their watering hole.
The party starts when the sun goes down every Thursday from 10 pm-2 am. Don't Think! is 21+, always fun & always free. Plus, Gold Bar's kitchen stays open til 1 am. Get outta your head and into the groove: Don't Think!
